Two internationally acclaimed virtuosi who together will lead you on a breathtaking musical journey.

Anna Noakes (flute) and Gabriella Dall’Olio (harp) have been partners since the dawn of the new millennium. Their music is infectious and exhilarating, rich and full-blooded, passionate and ethereal - a combination of glamour and glorious sounds.

Their charisma, personality and energy make their live performances unmissable and unmistakable! Both professors at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, performances from Anna and Gabriella showcase their astounding musicianship in inventive programmes that span the worlds of classical, contemporary, folk and world, and take in works from Mozart and Doppler to Piazzolla and traditional folk tunes. Dazzling playing is enriched by their fizzing chemistry and their witty and illuminating rapport with the audience.

Anna and Gabriella have performed in a whole variety of concert halls, festivals and other venues, and they love to discover and play in unexpected places and spaces. The duo’s recent performance in the inaugural concert series on the Cutty Sark Ship garnered a remarkable response from a packed crowd.

ANNA NOAKES

Anna Noakes has an active performance schedule as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. She has performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room as well as at many of the UK’s most respected festivals including Brighton, Cheltenham, City of London, Dartington and Salisbury.

Her playing has inspired a whole raft of acclaimed composers to write for her such as Martin Butler, Christopher Caine, Simon Holt, Elgar Howarth, Cecilia McDowall, Kenneth Paige and Martin Yates. Anna works as Guest Principal Flute with the UK’s major orchestras including the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia and English Chamber Orchestra to name a few. Anna works regularly with the Royal Opera House and English National Opera. She has recorded numerous albums of both solo and chamber music for labels including ACV, Dutton and Naxos, many of which received Gramophone Magazine’s coveted ‘Critics Choic, and she broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

Anna is in demand to record the music for major film and television scores that include Arthur, Black Swan, Da Vinci Code, Golden Compass, Harry Potter, Hugo, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Stardust to name just a selection. Anna is Professor of Flute at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as well as woodwind coach for World Youth Orchestra, TL Orchestras, LSSO and CUMS. She has given masterclasses for BFS, Cork School of Music, DIC Dublin, GSMD and RNCM.

Anna is a founder member of the South American Folk Ensemble INCA and Artistic Director of the Yoxford Arts Festival, now in its tenth year.

GABRIELLA DALL’OLIO

Gabriella Dall’Olio inspires audiences throughout the world with solo recitals and chamber music concerts. Over the last three decades, she has received considerable international recognition and prizes. She has two highly acclaimed solo albums to her name on Claves label alongside numerous concerti, duos and chamber ensemble recordings for Ambitus, AVS, Dal Segno and Stradivarius. Gabriella has commissioned, premiered and recorded many contemporary works by composers including Chiara Benati, Christopher Caine, David Knotts, Paul Lewis, James MacMillan, John Marson and Alasdair Nicolson. She works regularly with young composers.

Gabriella plays as Guest Harp with the Berlin Philharmonic, and as Guest Principal Harp with some of the world’s finest orchestras and conductors including the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, London Symphony Orchestra and Vienna Philharmonic, under Abbado, Harnoncourt, Janssen, Maazel, Petrenko, Rattle and Salonen. On the lighter side, she has also enjoyed working with pop stars Phil Collins, Elton John, Kazabian, Sting and Tina Turner.

Gabriella is Head of Harp Studies and teaches at the Senior and Junior Department of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is well known as an adjudicator and invited to lead masterclasses and harp courses across the world. Gabriella’s enthusiastic, open and communicative approach has given her a wealth of experience across all fields of music, community and education work.
